More layouts that caught my eye lately:
Preference: This is a decidedly handmade layout, which is to say, it doesn't seem to use many "pre-fab" elements. Nothing wrong with that. This is a good example of a compare/contrast layout.
Are You There God: I don't necessarily expect to be one of those people who "scraps his Faith", but this is an effective idea anyway as it captures an all too human moment.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwrndrobwllllantysiiiogogogoch, Wales: WTF?! Well, you learn something new every day, eh? I guess the locals call it "Llanfair" for short. Or maybe "o'er theyre."
Unhappy Princess: Captured for posterity: The expression that Mar likes to call "pouty poopy-drawers." Love it.
Fresh: I really like layouts that manage to reinforce the theme. In this case, the circled section of the tape measure does the trick. That's an embellishment I intend to recycle in my own work sometime.
Pink is the New Black: In a previous installment, we learned that turquoise was the new pink, so it stands to reason that pink and black would be involved in a re-org. I like the bold layout.
The Queen is not Accepting an Audience: Love the photo, and the journaling is very cleverly placed. Some "artsy" layouts are ruined by journaling, but thus approach is a great compromise.
Love and Miss You Daddy: Powerful in its simplicity. I for one hope that this girl's daddy comes home pronto! (I hope that's an option?)
I'm the Lucky One: I thought that this photo was staged, but in fact, it's the result of being lucky enough to capture a fleeting moment with the camera. I didn't realize it until someone pointed it out in the comments section, but the background paper is cut in the shape of a clover. Clever!
Glammed & Dangerous: I was thinking about a "police blotter" layout idea, and looks like someone beat me to it. Nicely played!
Happiness: I'm kinda anti-stickers right now, especially the pre-fab store bought kind. But this layout makes them work, along with the journaling on a really familiar looking card, ha ha. Nice use of distressing ink.
Fibromyalgia: I know someone who has FM, and the journaling on this layout was very insightful. I can't imagine what it's like, and hope to never find out, beyond hearing the stories of those who live with it every day.
Falling in Love: Another triumph of minimalism. This layout really got me out of a creative funk the other day. Thanks!
34A: Uh, huh. Hmmm. Uh, yeah, so... like I've been saying, anything and anything can be scrapped. Fat chance combating the assumption that only women can, should or do make scrapbook pages.
A Bay Bay: Actually, it's Hey Bay Bay, but I won't say nothin' if you won't. The closely cropped portrait really grabs me. And those eyes - it's like they're staring right at you. I know!
Dream: Another triumph of minimalism. I love how the crib bars give the illusion of thin strips of photo, rather than 2 photos bunched together.
Want to Swing: Hardly minimal, but despite the "busy" patterned paper I think the layout works.
The Day They Met: Back to the triumphant minimalism, and how! We have a similar yet different photo of our two oldest dogs, and this layout was inspirational.
Hello, My Name Is: Excellent use of multiple photos to provide context instead of journaling.
Laughable: This layout has it all: A strong theme, striking title, excellent layout, multiple photos, journaling... really a scrapbooking clinic on one page. Nice.
Hooray, we have carved out our permanent scrapbooking room! Photos forthcoming after the painter finishes the walls. <EM>
