More layouts that inspired me - or inspired me to comment on them, anyway:
19: I love the layout, but it also reminds me that I am a "default options" guy, and need to look beyond what's in front of me and examine other possibilities. I really like how the creator colorized part of a b/w photo instead of the whole thing. Very cool.
Bubbles: I have some pretty nifty patterned papers, but it seems a shame to gunk them up with lots of distracting "stuff". This layout strikes a nice balance while providing context to the featured photo.
You Are Amazing: Fairly minimal layout, using lots of pre-fab decorative touches. Proving once again that you don't have to do all of the artsy heavy lifting alone.
Just Because: OK, wow. I was expecting this to be a fairly typical "my kid" layout, and it's a bit more than that. Not only a layout where I say "anything can be 'scrapped'," but this is pretty amazing in terms of bucking social norms (real or imagined) to capture a moment. Bravo.
Arklerspay: This is a bit "girly" for a page commemorating the goings-on of 2 males, but I like the layers of meaning in the title. One photo, a day full of activities, and the title sums up two at once. Maybe even three by way of the photo.
Cabrini Jr. Soccer: That sound you're hearing is 59 million organizations rushing off to make one of these layouts. Simple and effective, and something I'm sure the team will enjoy for years to come.
Simply Nature: Minimalism strikes again. I have a few artsy nature photos of my own, and am wanting to make something equally artsy to showcase them. The journaling tag is a bit too distressed for my tastes, but overall I like it.
Fascination: Another triumph of artsy simplicity, but my hope/concern is that the reason for the photo is captured somewhere, such as on a bookended page (not shown), or maybe on the back. The story is pretty compelling and I'd hate for it to fade away.
No Place I'd Rather Be: The other half of this layout is here. Wow. Excellent everything. On the left side, incredibly evocative photography and a crisp layout. On the right, I LOVE the frame-within-a-frame effect. I am not lying when I say that THIS is what I aspire to someday. Why scrapbooking is so interesting yet frustrating, illustrated.
Beach Baby: It's all about the photos. And the 3-D flower effects. While we were on the Road Trip that Ate My brain, I was hoping to get some definitive friends/family shots for layouts like this, and am sad to say that I may have to try again next year. The rapid-fire photo setting is your friend!
Lambert's: Too funny. We ate there on our journey from Indianapolis to Memphis earlier this month, and while I have no plans of making a Lambert's -specific layout, it's cool to see that someone else did. Lambert's is the place where I actually ate fried okra. It reminded me of gumbo taste-wise (duh), but it wasn't gross as okra is prone to be. But truth be told, Lambert's is the Wall Drug of Missouri.
Mayhem Boy: Now THIS is a masculine layout. No frou-frou here.
Hello, May Name is... Busted: Am I blue in the face yet? Yet another entry in the "anything and everything can be commemorated" department. This also belongs in the "I wish I had thought of that" folder. Clever!
Snapshots: Despite what the creator says about the layout, it is incredibly "to the point" in a good way, and check this out: The layout uses 8 elements (I think?) including the 2 photos. Proving that you can make a visually appealing layout with next to nothing.
You Drive Me Crazy: I'm not usually a fan of A-Z "A is for [whatever]" designs, but in this case I'll make an exception. The photo really makes the layout. I'd imagine this is going to be fun to look back on in 20-30 years.
Official Family Foot Photographer: Another quirk captured for posterity.
We have carved out a "crop room" at home (temporarily until the real deal is designed and completed) so I'm rarin' to go with my own to-do list. Scrapping powers, activate! <EM>
